Entries point out successfully the particular attention given to sea-level correlations in coastal areas. Besides, Project 200 sponsored the publication of three books and manuals, which can be used by developing countries. Projects 201 and 218 started in 1983 and 1984, respectively. They are mainly concerned with regional aspects; 'Quaternary of South America1, including lithostratigraphic and geochronological correlation of continental and marine facies, and 'Quaternary Processes in Southeast Asia' exogenic and endogenic processes and events ; . However, applied aspects, stratigraphy and paleoenvironment are more relevant in the last project. These projects have given a strong impulse to research on superficial deposits and on recent environmental changes in several countries of South Asia and of South America

C ; MLC2-V immunohistochemical staining of a 9.0 dpc SMyHC3-HAP transgenic embryo. D ; Double staining HAP + MLC2-V ; of a 9.0 dpc SMyHC3-HAP transgenic embryo. The SMyHC3-HAP transgene is expressed only in the atria arrows ; of transgenic embryos, while non-transgenic sibs do not express any HAP. The domains of SMyHC3-HAP and MLC2-V expression describe inflow sino-atrial ; and outflow compartments of the heart, respectively. Double-stained mice indicate that SMyHC3-HAP and MLC2-V overlap in the atrioventricular channel D and procainamide.
In addition there were two deaths not related to the disease or treatment in the TEP arm one due to myocardial infarction and one due to pneumonia occurring two and seven months after treatment, respectively ; , and three deaths on the EP arm due to a ruptured aortic aneurysm, a pulmonary embolism and a gastrointestinal haemorrhage from gastric ulcer without associated thrombocytopenia ; . Treatment delivery and compliance A total of 261 cycles of TEP and 323 of EP were administered with a median number of cycles per patient 5 range 1-9 ; and 4 range 1-8 ; , respectively. The median interval between cycles was 28 days range 28-35 ; for TEP and 28 days range 28-36 ; for EP Eighteen 7% ; cycles of TEP were delayed due to haematologic 3 cycles ; and non-haematologic 2 cycles ; toxicity or late patient admission due to personal reasons and pending imaging studies for response evaluation 13 cycles ; Similarly, 19 6% ; cycles of EP were delayed due to haematologic 3 cycles ; and non-haematologic 3 cycles ; toxicity or late patient admission and pending imaging studies 13 cycles ; . Dose reduction due to toxicity was required in 18 patients on each arm 29% of patients receiving TEP and 25% of patients receiving EP ; , corresponding to 22 8% ; cycles of TEP versus 23 7% ; of EP. G-CSF was administered in all cycles of TEP and 187 58% ; cycles of EP The administered mean dose-intensity for paclitaxel.
Persons aged 264 years who are living in environments or social settings in which the risk for invasive pneumococcal disease or its complications is increased e.g., Alaskan Natives and certain American Indian populations ; should be vaccinated. In addition, because of recently reported outbreaks of pneumococcal disease 89 ; , vaccination status should be assessed for residents of nursing homes and other longtermcare facilities. Available data do not support routine pneumococcal vaccination of healthy children attending day care facilities. Recurrent upper respiratory tract diseases, including otitis media and sinusitis, are not specific indications for pneumococcal vaccine and procaine.

The estrogen dependence of GHRi transcripts was studied in a variety of models, using solution hybridization assays to quantitate the changes in larger numbers of animals in each treatment group. To assess the time course of induction of GHR gene expression by E samples of liver were obtained from groups of normal male rats killed at different times after implantation of E, slow-release pellets 25 pg day ; . In this and subsequent experiments, the probes specific for GHBP, GHR, and GHR, Fig. la ; were used in three different solution hybridization assays on the same extracts. There was a progressive rise in the abundance of hepatic GHR, transcripts, which became significant 96 h after exposure to Ez, whereas there were no consistent, statistically significant changes measured with the other two probes Fig. 2 ; . Conversely, GHRi transcript levels were significantly reduced in normal females given the antiestrogen tamoxifen Fig. 3 ; . We have previously reported that the plasma GHBP and hepatic GHR levels were significantly reduced by tamoxifen in the same animals depicted in Fig. 3 without significant differences in GHBP and GHR transcript levels measured with coding region probes 5 ; . In two further experiments, the abundance of GHR, transcripts were compared in Ovx animals treated continuously with T 12.5 pg day ; , E, 25 pg day ; , or hGH 200 pg day ; for 14 days, and in Hx males treated with hGH 200 pg day ; , E, 25 pg day ; , or a combination for 12 days. The data are summarized in Table 1. E, and hGH treatments. markedly increased GHR, in Ovx females. GHR, levels were very low in Hx rats, E, alone had no effect, and although GHR, levels tended to increase with hGH, with or without Ez, the effects were much smaller and did not reach statistical significance in this experiment Table 1 ; . The effects of T and or GH treatment were also studied in male, GH-deficient dwarf rats. We have previously reported 5 ; that continuous GH treatment increased both plasma GHBP and hepatic GHR in these animals, that this stimulation was unaffected by T, and that coding probes for total GHR and GHBP transcripts showed no significant differ and procarbazine
